How Old Are We?

I have been reading the blogs that have been posted over the past week and I am completely amazed at how some people just haven't changed.... are we approaching 40 or are we still in grade school? Who really cares what we do on Saturday, whether it be Hammo or the Clinton Town Beach.. and if you think that Friday night at Waters Edge is not going to be enough alchol for you that you need to carry it into a "family day" then you may not get such a great turnout and if you do is it going to turn into a "keg party"? This is just appalling.

Another brave anonymous post. Apparently you do care "what we do on Saturday" because you've chosen to air an opinion. And let's not tread to heavily on the "have we grown up" bit. The point that I had made was to give people choices. We have grown up and likewise should be able to make our own choices about drinking or not drinking. We should be able to have some valuable input as to, for whatever reason, we think Clinton beach is or is not a good idea. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I respect the choice to have an alcohol-free event for the little ones. But not every classmate is in this boat and these people were overlooked in my opinion. I asked only to hear what the class had to say and when there was significant feedback supporting the change to Hammonassett, it was again ignored.
So there you have it.

The Clinton beach has not gone anywhere. You're still welcome to visit it, and to have your cookout there. Nobody is taking that away from you. The only thing that really happened here is that a couple of people stood up and said that it might be important to find out what everyone wants to do rather than shove it down their throats.

Next time step up to the plate and let us all know who you are. I've been very open about my thoughts and exactly where they're coming from.

I find it amusing that some people are worried about drinking in front of their children at our High School reunion!! Grow up? Are we so old that we forgot what we were doing in high school??? ok, we have chosen to forget most of it, but chances are somebody remembers & WILL be reminding people of it AT the reunion. I wouldn't be so worried as to if the is drinking - we should probably be worried about what they will be HEARING! We were not such a sweet & innocent class - why would we grow up any differently?
DAN - Thank you for your efforts to bring options, input & honesty to the table - in a light - nonconfrontational way...
This reunion should be fun. Not every one has fun in the same way - therefore we need choices.
Much appreciated,

And, for that Dan, we THANK YOU.

"that" would include:

Your openness, your honesty and your feedback.

Anyone here for a 20 Year Reunion Class King vote?

No, in all seriousness, there are those of us out there who appreciate your voice.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not discounting anyone else’s efforts and feedback, I appreciate that too.

I see a consistency here and I wanted to make sure it didn't go unnoticed.
