I'd be remiss if I didn't say I agree with the "how old are we" posting. Do we need alcohol AGAIN at the picnic? Isn't that what Water's Edge is for?
It is for our families, after all... and saying "don't come to the picnic if you don't like it" will make people feel like outcasts because they believe kids and alcohol don't mix.
I don't think that's off-base. This isn't a frat party, it's a family picnic.

Another anonymous post. Why am I not surprised? While some of you are having a stroke over why alcohol needs to be involved I'm having a hard time understanding why you begrudge grown adults their choice. Maybe it's those years living in Europe that changed my thinking.
It's very simple. You have a choice. If you wish to go to Hammonassett, then go. If you wish to go to the Clinton beach then go. Nobody is twisting your arm. Just don't show up at Hammonassett griping about why you can't be at the Clinton Beach.

I am 37. I will be 38 in July.
Some people are not going to Water's Edge because they can not afford it or various misc. reasons, but are going to Hammo. and vise versa.
It is a "Class of '87 picnic." Your spouse/sig. other and kids are invited. What we're organizing at Hammo. is NOT a "Family" picnic. My grandmother will not be there.
THANK-YOU to everyone so far who has offered to bring things, help out w/ $$$ and volunteered to do stuff. TOGETHER we're doing great!
Please keep the e-mails to me coming and so I can keep the updates going.
Funny. I remember having plenty of picnics and cookouts in my family. Beer was always there, and it was never a problem. Nobody ever got out of control. So when we say "family picnic" I guess we just come from different types of families. Mine could always keep it under control.

I posted under Dan's last comment - but I've got to say this now... We as a class always partied together & took care of each other even when there were issues. Has so much changed? There was only 1 party I remember holding any ones hair back (psst Danielle - your a unicorn) I'd like to believe that we will still take care of each other... even if we don't all agree 100% - AM I SO FAR OFF???

You are "Not so far off." I have it narrowed down to two sour grapes. I'm waiting to find out if I smell cheese from one of them. Even w/ my sarcasm, everynoe else is really TOGETHER on the Hammo. Class Picnic.

Is that a "Shout out" to Danielle or do you KNOW she's a "Lurker?" I do not have her in the Hammo. Huskies e-mail addresses. So, if you're talking w/ her....have her e-mail me w/ it.
